Step-Down Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Location: Local Candidates Accepted

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule / Shift: Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Description: The Step-Down Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care for patients requiring close monitoring and specialized treatment in a Step-Down unit. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of recent Step-Down experience and be adept in managing complex patient needs.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and neurological status.
• Administer medications, including emergency medications and cardiac drips.
• Perform frequent assessments and documentation of patient progress.
• Manage and provide post-operative care, including handling TR bands and caring for patients post-heart catheterization or vascular procedures.
• Utilize cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management skills.
• Maintain and manage intravenous (IV) access, including PICC line management.
• Ensure adherence to infection prevention policies and isolation precautions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Step-Down nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Experience in cardiac telemetry and emergency response procedures.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, specifically Allscripts.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
