Psych Nurse (RN) Full-Time (nights)

Position Summary Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174‑bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. The hospital provides 24‑hour emergency services and a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment for children, adolescents, and adults, as well as partial hospitalization, intensive out‑patient, and ECT services. The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care for psychiatric patients—child, adolescent, geriatric, and chemical dependency—using the nursing process: assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate care, administer or monitor medications, and provide milieu management and crisis intervention. Must attend full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1: M‑F 8 AM – 4:30 PM; Week 2: Tu & We 9 AM – 5 PM. Job Duties / Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors. Direct milieu management. Provide assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status. Contribute to treatment plans as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Document nursing care, treatment, and patient response to treatment. Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health and chemical dependency disorders and apply appropriate interventions. Qualifications Pass a Level 2 Background Investigation. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associate’s degree required; BSN preferred). Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida. Minimum of one year related experience; psychiatric nursing experience is preferred. Current CPR certification required.
