Please click here to learn more about our locations.Job DescriptionThe PACU Registered Nurse is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function within the Shriners Hospitals for Children Professional Practice Model (FOCUSED), which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The PACU RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources. The PACU RN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects.Key Responsibilities:Performs professional nursing services for patients with a variety of needs utilizing the nursing process and within the scope, ethics and standards of practice as defined by the American Nurses Association and the California BRN Nurse Practice Act.Supports the family centered care philosophy of Shriners Hospitals.Collects and analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis/issuesIdentifies expected outcomes and develops a plan that prescribes strategies which address health promotion and restoration, health maintenance, or health related problems or issues and alternatives to attain expected outcomesImplements the identified plan and coordinates care deliveryEmploys strategies to promote health and a safe environmentEvaluates progress toward attainment of outcomesApplies the principles of professional codes of ethics that ensure individual rights in all areas of practiceIntegrates evidence and research findings into practiceDemonstrates leadership behaviors in practice settings, across the profession, and in the communityRequired Qualifications:CA RN LicenseBSNCPRPALSPreferred Qualifications:One year of specialty experience preferred.The pay range for this position is: $56.03 - $79.10/hour.Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity. #J-18808-Ljbffr Shriners Children's
