This inpatient facility operates within a hospital setting that provides cardiothoracic surgical services, with the majority of clinical activity conducted in the hospital environment and a minor clinical office component. The facility maintains modern surgical infrastructure and established protocols to support quality patient care delivery across the cardiothoracic surgery service line. Standard cardiothoracic surgical equipment and support systems are in place to ensure optimal outcomes for surgical patients.

The region provides year-round activities, including access to natural landscapes, coastal areas, mountain terrain, and forested environments. Clinicians may explore diverse outdoor destinations across the state during their assignment.

The nurse practitioner will provide inpatient cardiothoracic surgery coverage during night shifts and 24-hour call at an on-site facility in Washington. Required procedures include general CV/thoracic surgery (open), coronary artery bypass surgery on pump, and valvular repair and replacement. Preferred procedures include aneurysm repair (cardiac and aorto-thoracic), lung resection including VATS, chest wall or pleural procedures, left ventricular assist devices, ventilation management, evaluation and management of acute volume and blood pressure issues, and insertion of central lines. Board certification is required for this assignment.
