Entity: Owensboro Health Regional Hospital | Department: MRI Owensboro Healthplex | Work Hours: 7am-5pm; One Saturday per Month from 730am-12pm | Weekend Requirements: One | 1.0 FTE Job Summary Provides magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and patient care services at defined levels to patients. Job Responsibilities Position patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately. Apply the ALARA principle to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others. Implement patient safety standards. Prepare for and assist the physician in MRI procedures. Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under direct supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization. Position Requirements Work Experience: No experience required. Education: Diploma, Associate's degree or higher in Science or related field required upon hire. Licensure/Certification/Registration: RT(R) – Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Radiology required upon hire. RT(MR) – Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Magnetic Resonance Imaging required upon hire. ROC – Radiation Operator Certification in the state of Kentucky required upon hire. BLS – Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position.
