Overview DSHS BHHA SOLA - Direct Support Professional/Attendant Counselor 2. Assist adults with developmental disabilities to live full, empowered lives in their home. Responsibilities include cooking, personal care tasks, household tasks, community activities, medication administration and support to maintain good physical, behavioral and emotional health. Role Summary Work day, swing, night shift, and part‑time opportunities in Kent, WA. Possibility to begin in training. After successful completion of the 6–12 month in‑training plan, progress to Attendant Counselor 2. Key Responsibilities Coach, teach, and mentor people with intellectual disabilities. Assist and train clients with all areas of daily living skills. Implement Individual Support Plan programs, plans, and services. Transport and accompany clients to appointments and community activities. Build relationships with clients and maintain the resident’s home safe and clean. Collect, record, and report participant information vital to home management. Use an electronic data system to maintain client records and other reports. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. At least one year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities in mental health facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or residential settings (or a paid training position available). Outgoing and friendly, punctual, responsible, able to provide accurate written communication. Capable of working with challenging individuals, effective communication with management, peers, residents, and the public. Ability to work in a team or alone, read and follow policies and procedures. Benefits Competitive pay ($21.90–$27.96 per hour depending on experience).
