The administrator also verifies and coordinates reshipment of incoming freight by performing the following duties. **Core Responsibilities** * Directs activities assigning tariff classifications according to type and weight of freight or merchandise; routing and scheduling shipment by air, rail, or truck; and preparing billings from tariff and classification manuals.* Reviews documents to ensure that assigned classifications and tariffs are in accordance with mode of transportation and destination of shipment.* Investigates shipper or consignee complaints regarding lost or damaged merchandise or shortages in shipment to determine responsibility.* Directs preparation of claims against carrier responsible and corresponds with shipper or consignee to effect settlement.* Schedules shipments to ensure compliance with interstate traffic laws and regulations and company policies. Qualifying Experience* Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.EQUIPMENT, TOOLS & WORK AIDS • Personal Computer • MS Office Suite • SAP Inventory System WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS • Inside working conditions. • No environmental hazards indicated for this role. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling. • Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
