HELP OUT: The Party in the Park...Ignite! Join the San Diego Automotive Museum in volunteering at their Grand Prix Gala honoringDr. Steve and Lynne Wheeler on Saturday, September 27. They are expecting approximately 400 attendees for this large-scaleevent and will need a lot of help to make it run smoothly. The Party in the Parkraises money for the San Diego Automotive Museum'sIGNITE Technical Academy. The academy teachesstudents skills in the auto industry along with apprenticeships, fiscal responsibility, and resume building all at no cost to the student. There are multiple positions available for volunteers at thegala, fromsetting up in the morning to assisting with the live auction. Below are the times and positions needed - there are about 40 openings: Set up from9:00am- 4:00pm Live auction from4:00pm- 10:00pm Greeters from4:00pm- 7:30pm Valet from4:00pm- 7:00pm Check in from4:00pm- 8:00pm Silent Auction/Jewelry pull from4:00pm- 10:00pm Floaters from4:00pm- 9:00pm Please note that the shift times are subject to change. Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes Attire: Closed-toe shoes, slacks, event shirt (provided) and badge (provided). This opportunity takes place both indoors and outdoors. Bring: Jacket for the evening. Physical Requirements: Standing on their feet for multiple hours - lifting, bending for morning shifts. This project is able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations by providing less physical roles. The space where this project takes place is ADA compliant and wheelchair accessible. Waiver: Minors will be required to have a San Diego Automotive Museumwaiver signed by their parent/guardian. Weather: This event takes place rain or shine. The mission of the San Diego Automotive Museum is to tell the story of the social and technological past, present, and future of motorized vehicles throughout its collections, exhibitions, and educational programs.
