Bilingual Admissions Clinician (English/Spanish) Position Summary The Bilingual Admissions Behavioral Health Clinician is responsible for conducting comprehensive behavioral health assessments to determine appropriate level of care and facilitate timely access to services for English- and Spanish-speaking clients. In addition to admissions responsibilities, this clinician maintains a small, community-based outpatient caseload to provide ongoing therapeutic services. This role requires strong clinical assessment skills, knowledge of levels of care, and the ability to build rapport quickly — in both English and Spanish — while ensuring smooth transitions into treatment. We are actively seeking a dedicated bilingual professional to join our Behavioral Health Admissions/Response Team at Paragon BHC. As a Clinician in this role, you will play a crucial role in assessing and admitting new clients based on clinical acuity and urgency, with a particular focus on serving our Spanish-speaking community. You will provide urgent behavioral health interventions to individuals in crisis and support clients who need support stepping down into or returning to the community. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop safety plans, coordinating with emergency services, and connecting individuals with appropriate resources. You will also support crisis stabilization interventions and ensure smooth transitions to ongoing services provided by our in-home clinical teams or other teams as appropriate. This position requires excellent bilingual communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a genuine commitment to helping those in need. If you are passionate about making a positive impact on mental health and possess the qualifications, we encourage you to join us in this meaningful role. The Bilingual Admissions Behavioral Health Clinician also partners with community agencies — including the Rose Andom Center — to maintain a small caseload providing outpatient therapy services for clients with complex behavioral health and social needs, with an emphasis on serving Spanish-speaking and Latinx communities. Role Responsibilities Admissions & Intake Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluation of risk factors including suicidality, homicidality, substance use, and safety concerns to develop treatment plans tailored to client and/or family goals — delivered in the client's preferred language (English or Spanish). Determine appropriate level of care using clinical judgment and established criteria (e.g., ASAM, LOCUS, CALOCUS). Provide timely and empathetic responses to new clients needing expedited admissions into treatment; respond to urgent and crisis calls, messages, or situations in English and Spanish. Stabilize clients and transition to appropriate ongoing services (e.g., IOP, Assertive Community Treatment, intensive in-home services). Coordinate admissions, including collaboration with referral sources, hospitals, community partners, and internal teams. Verify clinical appropriateness, support authorization processes, and facilitate seamless transitions to internal or external programs. Maintain knowledge of program eligibility, payer requirements, and available services, including culturally and linguistically appropriate resources for Spanish-speaking clients. Engage in Crisis Prevention and Intervention training and respond to behavioral health emergencies as needed. Support crisis stabilization interventions, mental health holds, and evidence-based therapies tailored to individual needs. Direct care management staff in prioritizing urgent interventions at admission. Outpatient & Community-Based Clinical Services Maintain a small community-based outpatient caseload to provide services in homes, schools, and other approved community settings, with services available in English and Spanish. Work as a multidisciplinary team with care managers. Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy in English and Spanish. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with client goals, incorporating cultural and linguistic considerations for Spanish-speaking and Latinx clients. Monitor treatment progress and adjust interventions as clinically indicated. Conduct ongoing risk assessments and safety planning. Provide service coordination and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Coordinate care with multidisciplinary providers and community systems, including Spanish-language community resources. Deliver culturally responsive, trauma-informed services that leverage client strengths. Assist clients in identifying appropriate clinical pathways and recommendations for the level of care. Documentation, Compliance & Quality Complete accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency, state, and payer requirements. Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, including HIPAA and applicable confidentiality laws. Participate in supervision, case consultation, and quality improvement initiatives. Program Delivery Areas Urgent/Rapid Response: Ensure compliance with BHA standards, prioritized response protocol, streamlined assessment and treatment planning — including bilingual response capacity. Community Stabilization Programming (CSP): Interconnected with Mobile Crisis Response, ensuring 24/7 coverage. May require extended hours during weekdays, and telephonic/virtual access after-hours 1–2 evenings per month. Critical Incident Community Response for clients with identified needs and higher acuity responses. Developing collaborative partnerships for robust coverage and high-quality services for clients, with a focus on expanding access for Spanish-speaking communities. Rose Andom Center: Develop community-oriented programming and trauma treatment/intervention for survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual assault, with bilingual services for Spanish-speaking survivors. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) — required. Strong bilingual communication and interpersonal skills across clinical and community settings. Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure. Empathy and a genuine desire to help others. Knowledge of mental health resources and services, including those serving Spanish-speaking and Latinx populations. Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and protocols. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Understanding of HIPAA, confidentiality, and protected health information. Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and make rational decisions. Strong conflict resolution skills.
