The company has four operating divisions: Automation & Controls, Electrical Panels, Contract Manufacturing, Specialty Equipment. Job Summary We are seeking a skilled CAD Drafter/Designer to support our design engineers and company executives in creating and refining detailed 2D and 3D drawings for our custom automation solutions. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CAD software, and the ability to collaborate with a team. Some travel to customer sites may be required. Key Responsibilities * Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings * Support our design engineering team * Interpret specifications and engineering sketches to produce design documentation. * Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and ensure drawings are properly documented. * Maintain an organized CAD file management system for revision control and documentation tracking. * Maintain QC documentation (first article, in process inspection reports, etc.) * Generate quotes for contract manufacturing and spare parts * Assist in creating technical manuals, installation guides, and other supporting documentation * Stay up-to-date on CAD software developments and automation industry trends. Qualifications & Skills * A\degree or technical certification in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred but not required. * Proficiency in CAD software…SolidWorks (preferred), or similar 2D/3D modeling tools). * Understanding of mechanical design principles, automation and manufacturing processes * Ability to read/interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications. * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. * Experience in automation, fabrication, or manufacturing environment is a plus. * Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is preferred * Ability to collaborate and be the liaison with customers, vendors, engineers, shop floor personnel and company leadership. * Ability to program waterjetting, laser forming equipment and press brakes is a plus but not required. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required * Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
