Location: Forrest Hill, Texas Industry: Aviation and Space Tooling Fabrication

Job Summary

JSG's client, a growing aviation and space tooling fabrication shop, is seeking experienced CNC Machinists for contract to hire positions. Successful candidates will run set up and operate CNC machines to produce high-precision components from steel and aluminum materials, ensuring adherence to strict quality and safety standards for aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Run set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines to produce precision parts for aviation and space tooling.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files to determine machining requirements.
• Perform quality checks using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM) to ensure parts meet tolerances.
• Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials (steel and aluminum) for each job.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to maintain production efficiency.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with aerospace standards.

Qualifications

Required Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace or precision tooling.

Required Skills: Must be able to set up and run CNC machines. Strong understanding of machining steel and aluminum materials. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints. Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Familiarity with precision measuring tools and quality control processes.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in machining or related field preferred.

Attributes: Detail-oriented, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work independently or in a team.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in aerospace or aviation tooling fabrication. Experience with various multi-axis CNC machines. Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards.
