Lead Data Scientist - Customer Analytics, CLV & Incrementality - Remote Contract

New Team Build / Global Energy

We're looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join a new team build for a global energy organisation, delivering customer analytics, commercial insights and value measurement to support data-driven business decisions.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong Python and SQL skills with advanced analytical thinking, customer intelligence and the ability to translate complex datasets into reliable, measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities

Develop customer analytics, lifetime value (CLV) models and RFM segmentation.
Measure incrementality, customer value and commercial performance.
Analyse customer, transaction, payment and margin data, investigating discrepancies between sources.
Build cohort analyses, scenario models and reproducible analytical solutions.
Validate methodologies, financial assumptions and analytical outputs to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Use Python, SQL and Databricks to process large datasets and operationalise analytical workflows.
Communicate findings and value estimates to technical and business stakeholders.
Advanced SQL and strong Python programming.
Strong statistical analysis, customer analytics and data-modelling skills.
Experience with cohort analysis, data reconciliation and analytical validation.
Ability to produce reproducible, well-documented analytical outputs.
Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps and controlled production changes.
BSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
Customer lifetime value (CLV), RFM segmentation and loyalty analytics.
Incrementality measurement, experimentation or uplift modelling.
Commercial, financial or margin analysis.
Experience working with high-volume transaction and customer datasets.
