Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Department. This position requires a focus on providing specialized care for patients with rehabilitation needs, including those recovering from strokes, aneurysms, surgical procedures, and other neurological diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a patient caseload that includes acute care rehabilitation patients.
• Perform nursing assessments and develop care plans tailored to patient needs.
• Conduct telephone triage and respond to pharmacy calls and patient refill requests.
• Document patient health history, including allergies and prior health issues.
• Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, respiration, temperature, and pulse).
• Execute medication reconciliation and interpret laboratory results.
• Assist in dressing changes and set up aseptic/sterile procedure trays.
• Collect lab specimens, including capillary samples, throat swabs, and urine samples (e.g., UA Clean Catch).
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding rehabilitation processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience is required.
• Acute Care Rehabilitation experience is preferred.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records is preferred.
• Must be willing to float between multiple locations within the region as needed.
• Experience with patient populations including CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injuries, and generalized debility is desirable.

Shift Schedule

This position is for a night shift, consisting of three 12-hour shifts each week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Please note that weekends and holidays may be required on a rotating basis.

Patient Ratios

The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6; however, there may be instances where a nurse is assigned up to 7 patients with similar acuity levels on a rotating basis.
