Outpatient Registered Nurses (RNs) Needed at Sheridan VA Medical CenterWander Staffing is seeking two (2) Outpatient Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide on-site outpatient nursing care to Veterans at the Sheridan VA Medical Center in Sheridan, Wyoming.LOCATIONSheridan VA Medical Center (Sheridan VA Health Care System), 1898 Fort Road, Sheridan, WY 82801 (100% on-site)COMPENSATIONDay Shift: $42/hrNight $44/hrWeekend/Holiday: $46/hrW2 positionPaid sick leave, paid vacation, and 11 paid federal holidaysSCHEDULEFull-time: 80 hours every two weeksThe VA operates 24/7. Shifts are primarily 12 hours (some units offer 8-hour shifts) and may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, varying by unitThe VA may change duty hours to meet patient care needs, with 24 hours’ noticeCONTRACT DETAILS5-year contract. Anticipated start December 1, 2026 pending VA credentialing andNote: The duration of the contract is between the government and Wander Staffing. As with any position, if life requires you to leave, please provide a 60-day notice.QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTSGraduate of a state-approved nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE at completionCurrent RN license in any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or DC; NPIBLS (ACLS also required if assigned to a specialty clinic)Minimum one (1) year of direct patient care within the last three (3) yearsVA credentialing and privileging (VetPro) before starting, with ongoing competency review; current CEUs; physical exam within 30 days before applying for privilegesBefore your first shift: negative TB test (TST or IGRA) within the past year (chest x-ray if positive); MMR and varicella immunity; Tdap; annual flu vaccine (or masking); Hepatitis B immunity or series started; Hepatitis C titer; bloodborne pathogen trainingAble to pass a Tier 2 (Moderate Risk) background investigation and obtain a VA PIV card; eligible to work in the U.S. (E-Verify); not listed on the HHS OIG List of Excluded Individuals/EntitiesDUTIESProvide direct and indirect nursing care with independent judgment and an interdisciplinary approach: take patient and family history, assess, plan, re-assess, and revise care; perform critical care nursing for ICU patientsVerify and carry out physician orders (verbal orders accepted per facility policy), including medication orders from the previous shiftAdminister medications and IV therapies and document patient response; interpret cardiac rhythms; operate defibrillators, EKG machines, cardiac monitors, and other emergency equipment; know common emergency drugs and the crash cartRecognize emergencies, start life-saving measures when no physician is present, and assist with surgical and diagnostic proceduresAssess intake and output every shift, review lab data and records, perform skin assessments to prevent Hospital Acquired Pressure Ulcers (HAPU), and care for patients with catheters and prosthesesTeach patients and families about medications, therapies, and procedures, record their understanding, and participate in discharge planningHOW TO APPLYInterested and qualified RNs are submitted with our proposal, and the Government selects its preferred RNs as part of the processPlease email your resume/CV, RN license(s), BLS (and ACLS, if you have it), NPI, immunization records (TB, MMR, varicella, Tdap, flu, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C), and employee health record to Rachel McGee at View email address on click.appcast.io?
