Surgical Technician

Surgical Technician - Surgery This position is Per Diem and will work 8‑hour, variable shifts at Providence Saint John’s Health Center, Santa Monica, CA. Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of the circulating registered nurse and in collaboration with service‑line coordinators, clinical supervisors and the surgery manager, the surgical technologist II provides scrub services, ensures the functionality, availability and sterility of OR supplies, scrubs and handles instruments during surgical procedures, adheres to aseptic technique, demonstrates competence in a variety of procedures, assists in stocking supplies, reports inventory variations, communicates system improvements, participates in patient care activities such as room turnover and transport, supports department budgetary objectives, and supports hospital administration objectives. Required Qualifications Completion of an accredited surgical technologist course (not required if more than 10 years of experience). H.S. Diploma or GED. National Certified Surgical Technologist – National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting upon hire. National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire. 2 years experience as a surgical technologist with the ability to competently scrub all regularly performed procedures in five of the eight core service‑line clusters; three of those clusters must be general/urology/gynecology, orthopedics, and spine. For internal candidates, the minimum experience can be waived if the ability to scrub in the service lines listed above is met. Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree. Certified Surgical Technologist – National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting upon hire. Pay Range Pay Range: $47.12 per hour (base pay range).
