About the Position

Job Title: CVICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 Year Minimum Experience Required License: Active State RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Strong experience in CVICU/open heart (2+ years preferred); Charge experience preferred. Description: The CVICU Registered Nurse will work night shifts. At least 1 year of CVICU experience is required. First time travelers with strong experience will be accepted. This position involves caring for patients post-cardiac surgery. Patients may include those with CABG, valve surgeries, and various cardiac conditions. The nurse will provide direct patient care and support. Emergency responses and critical care management will be part of the role. Patient ratios are 2:1 during night shifts. Floating within the specialty and sister units may be required. Holidays and every other weekend shifts are also required. Experience in managing arterial lines, central lines, and ventilated patients is essential. The nurse will assist with various procedures and maintain infection prevention protocols. Candidates should be comfortable using monitoring systems and interpreting lab results. Documentation within a charting system is expected. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are crucial. Support from various interdisciplinary teams will be available. The unit cares for adults and geriatric patients.
