Base pay range $50.00/hr - $61.00/hr Optomi, in partnership with a leader in global information services, is seeking an experience Cloud Platform Engineer. The right candidate will maintain infrastructure with expertise in Kubernetes and Terraform, having a strong software engineering background and preferrably having experience with ArgoCD. What the Right Candidate will Enjoy: Fully Remote! Opportunity to join a company with a strategic position in global markets! Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain infrastructure using Kubernetes, Terraform, and Azure. Develop and support internal CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD. Collaborate with engineering teams to onboard their services to the platform, enabling self-service capabilities. Bring a strong Agile mindset: proactively identify issues, question inefficiencies, and continuously improve the platform. Serve as an embedded engineer with development teams to build scalable, long-term platform solutions. Apply knowledge of Istio Service Mesh, sidecar patterns, and Kubernetes networking as needed. Actively engage in the development lifecycle: raise concerns, challenge decisions, and influence architectural direction. Required Skills & Experience: 5+ years in software engineering or platform engineering roles with hands-on development experience. Strong expertise in Kubernetes and Terraform (IaC). Deep understanding of Azure cloud services and infrastructure. CI/CD pipeline design and management using GitHub Actions (little to no ADO usage). Experience with Istio, sidecar patterns, and service mesh architecture. Strong Agile experience — not just rituals, but the mindset: autonomy, ownership, and continuous improvement. Able to think critically, challenge team decisions constructively, and avoid a "ticket-taker" mentality. Nice to Have: Experience with ArgoCD. Familiarity with Terratest in Golang.
