Job Description

ROLE SUMMARYThis is an Onsite position based at our location in Goleta, CA.No Visa sponsorship is available for this position.The Production Planning Specialist forecasts, plans and schedules the daily production and safety workflow based on customer orders and inventory, and continuously evaluates open orders to ensure prioritization and communication to the production team to ensure product movement.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESForecasts, plans, and schedules production workflow based on customer ordersCollaborates with Production Supervisors to define priorities in production scheduleReleases product to appropriate departmentUtilizes company ERP system to create and analyze reports to determine best scheduling methodsClosely monitors job progress from job creation to completionEnters inventory information and confirms physical inventory when neededAnalyzes and evaluates inventory and delivery problems recommending solutionsTakes a proactive approach to scheduling methodologies to identify potential conflicts throughout the different phases of production in an effort to minimize errors and maximize customer experienceProvides data as required to forecast estimates and schedules of goods in process and needs for future ordersRead and write reports as necessaryEnsures safety and quality goals are metAdditional duties as assignedREQUIREMENTSEducation:• High School Diploma or GEDExperience:• 3 years’ minimum proven planning / scheduling experience within a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environmentRequired Skills:• Must be a forward thinker, self-starter, motivated, and dependable• Highly organized and detail oriented• Strong computer skills to include MS Office products; Excel reporting using pivot tables and V-Look up required• Prior experience working within an ERP system• Must be able to read, interpret, understand and follow instructions, product labels, safety rules, operation and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and schedules• Possess acute observation skills to ensure the safety of those around them• Effective verbal and written communication, as well as acute listening skills• Ability to work independently as well as in a cross-functional team environmentPreferred Additional Education, Experience and Skills:• Associate’s Degree in a Business Discipline• Planning, Inventory Management, or other related certification• SAP ERP experienceAre you full of ideas?
