This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with patients in a busy inpatient environment.What You’ll DoObtain and report vital signs, weights, intake and output, and glucometer resultsPerform EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collectionAssist patients with bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, and other activities of daily livingHelp patients ambulate, reposition, and transfer safelyAnswer call lights and respond promptly to patient needsObserve patients and report changes in condition to the nursing teamAssist with admissions, transfers, and dischargesComplete patient treatments as directed by licensed staffPerform two hour patient rounding and required documentationProvide one to one close observation when neededMaintain clean, safe, organized, and stocked patient-care areasCollaborate with nurses and other members of the healthcare teamWhat Success Looks LikeYou will be successful in this role if you are:Caring, compassionate, and respectfulComfortable providing direct personal careAttentive to patient safety and changes in conditionOrganized during frequent interruptionsReliable and prepared for rotating shiftsAble to communicate clearly with patients, families, and staffWilling to learn and accept coachingComfortable working in a fast-paced inpatient environmentA team member who is ready to help wherever neededWhy Join This Team?This position offers hands on experience supporting patients with a range of medical and post hospital care needs.You will work closely with nurses and other clinical professionals while building experience in vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, glucose monitoring, mobility assistance, patient observation, and inpatient care.Minimum QualificationsHigh school graduate or equivalentPrevious clerical experience (preferably in a healthcare setting). Medical terminology is preferred.Ability to read and write at level 8, as documented on \"Invest,\" the hospital's Employee Learning Laboratory software.An ability to set appropriate priorities and organize workflow.An ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail during frequent interruptions.Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to interface with support and professional staff and patients.Pay Range:$20.00 – $26.92The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
