Family Medicine Clinical Supervisor

Provide clinical supervision and guidance to all clinic staff

Lead training for all Family Medicine clinical staff both for new employees and refreshers for existing staff.

Work with the Director and Practice Manager to develop and propose competencies, processes and protocols for Medical Assistants, LPN's and RN's within the Family Medicine Clinic.

Confer with practice manager and to resolve operational problems and to promote excellence in the delivery of care.

Responsible for the coordination of scheduling of staff within the clinic.

Room patients, measuring and recording vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or respiration.

Assess the patient's condition prescribing appropriate action to meet the needs of the patient within scope of practice.

Assess, intervene and reassess the patient's self-reported symptoms of pain promptly utilizing an appropriate tool for assessment (0-10 numerical scale).

Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding the patient to the provider and record those observations accurately.

Prepare patients for examinations, testing, treatment or procedures.

Assists the provider before, during, and after examinations and procedures.

Administer injections (vaccine, local anesthetic, etc.)

Demonstrate an understanding of medications with regards to action and side effects. Report pertinent information to appropriate individual.

Call patients with results, scheduling testing and appointments as needed.

Send or receive patient referrals as appropriate for clinic.

Provide education to patients about post treatment or procedure care and medications.

Provide telephone triage using professional nursing practices to assess patient need & acuity of care, recommend action/follow-up, and document all components within eCW.

Participate in educational experiences designed to maintain competence (meetings, training, process improvement work).

Effectively utilize all appropriate applications of the eCW computer system.

Effectively manage dynamic, potentially stressful patient encounters.

Use excellent guest relations skills in all interactions with patients, visitors and staff.

Follow all safety, security, and infection control, policies and procedures. Perform all tasks to ensure the safety of self, patient, and co-workers.

Perform patient care duties and procedures following department policy, established protocol and standard of care.

Strives for continuous quality improvement.

Participates in educational experiences designed to maintain and/or improve professional competence.

Maintains high work ethic standards.

Provides quality customer service to staff, patients and visitors at all times.

Graduate from an approved RN School of Nursing

1 year in an acute care setting; prefer an additional 1 year in ambulatory care

MO RN License in good standing

Basic Cardiac Life Support Certified or obtain within 90-days of employment

Basic computer skills
