Description:
Clinical interview required.
Successful completion of sterile technique test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes is necessary on the first day.
Unit has 16 Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum (LDRP) beds.
There are 2 operating room suites and 6 triage rooms available.
The unit performs approximately 1000 births per year.
Staffing ratios adhere to AWHONN guidelines.
Experience in titrating drips such as Pitocin is required.
Charge nurse and house supervisor responsibilities are present.
OB Techs and front desk schedulers support the unit.
Neonatologist is available on call 24/7, with frequent onsite presence.
Respiratory equipment includes CPAP; the unit initiates vent and transports patients as needed.
Telemetry services are available, with RNs responsible for reading strips.
Monitoring system is Fetalink.
12-hour shifts follow a 4-week schedule.
Weekend requirement includes one full weekend every 3 weeks.
Holiday requirement includes one major and one minor holiday.
On-call duty includes 18 hours within a 4-week schedule.
No floating is required.
Client laundered scrubs are provided.
Unit-specific orientation is included.
Charting system utilized is Cerner Power Chart Maternity.
Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during the assignment of 13 weeks.
