Role: Analyst Location: Remote (must be based in Tampa / St. Petersburg / Sarasota area) About Vision Point Capital Vision Point Capital is a business transition advisory firm serving privately held companies and their advisors. Our teams provide valuation, ESOP, and M&A advisory services to help clients make informed decisions about business value and ownership transitions. We are hiring an Analyst whose primary focus will be supporting our Valuation team. The role will also contribute to M&A engagements and, as our Transaction Readiness services grow, quality of earnings work. Role Overview We are seeking a curious, detail-oriented analyst who enjoys working through complex financial information and understanding the business behind the numbers. You’ll analyze company performance, build financial models, research industries and transactions, and prepare work that supports our valuation conclusions. You’ll also work with our M&A team on transaction materials and buyer diligence. The role offers a chance to learn from experienced advisors across disciplines while developing a strong foundation in valuation and transaction analysis. Key Responsibilities Valuation Support (80% of focus) · Analyze historical financial results, management projections, and other company information · Build and maintain financial models and supporting schedules · Research industries, market conditions, comparable companies, and relevant transactions · Assist with analyses of earnings, cash flow, risk, and other factors that affect business value · Prepare exhibits, workpapers, and draft report sections for senior review · Investigate inconsistencies or gaps in the information provided and document your findings · Support valuation engagements for a range of purposes, including business transitions, ESOPs, and other client needs M&A Support (10% of focus) · Help prepare and review financial information used in sell-side engagements · Assist with transaction materials, buyer research, and financial analyses · Organize information for buyer diligence and help track requests and responses · Work with the deal team to identify financial trends and questions that may affect a transaction Quality of Earnings & Transaction Readiness Support (10% of focus) · Analyze financial statements, general ledgers, trial balances, and supporting company records · Prepare schedules covering revenue, margins, expenses, cash flow, working capital, and historical operating trends · Assist with the analysis of potential adjustments to reported earnings · Prepare organized workpapers and exhibits for senior review · Help identify information gaps and track requests during financial diligence Qualifications Required · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field · Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting fundamentals · Strong Excel skills and comfort working with detailed financial data · Ability to produce accurate, well-organized work and explain your findings clearly · Strong analytical judgment and willingness to ask questions when information does not reconcile · Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines · Professional discretion when handling confidential client and transaction information Preferred · Experience in business valuation, audit, transaction advisory, investment banking, corporate finance, or a related analytical role · Exposure to financial modeling, valuation methods, or M&A transactions · Familiarity with accounting data from systems such as QuickBooks · Progress toward a CPA, CFA, or valuation credential · Quality of earnings or financial due diligence experience is a plus
