Job Title: Career Navigator Reports to: Lead Career Navigator Position Classification: Non‑Exempt Office Location: Hugo, Oklahoma (covers Antlers, Hugo, Ft. Towson, Rattan, Swink, Boswell, Soper) Type: Limited term Wage: $15.67 – $16.00 per hour Primary Objectives of Position The Career Navigator provides integrated workforce planning services to career center customers, aiding them in developing and implementing plans to find employment or improve employment skills. Duties include maintaining customer and service‑provider relationships, encouraging self‑assessment, and facilitating employment and training opportunities. Essential Job Functions Interviews customers to assess ongoing service needs, obtain occupational information, and explore employment or training opportunities. Coaches customers to present themselves effectively as candidates and secure optimal placement. Provides career advisement, including development of individual employment/placement plans, referrals to jobs, placement in training or education programs, and retention services. Performs visits to customers' homes, training provider sites, and employment sites. Develops and implements service plans to meet customer needs and keeps them updated. Coordinates service provider activities. Implements prescribed program procedures and accurate case management. Provides ongoing case management and serves as a liaison between customers and service providers, managing a comprehensive caseload. Provides employment services on an ongoing basis. Provides guidance and assistance to help participants retain employment. Accurately documents customer interactions through well‑written case notes in an automated system and prepares reports as requested. Addresses customers’ unique needs and barriers, ensuring equitable access and referrals to appropriate workshops, assessments, and internal programs. Other Job Duties May be requested to perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management. The organization reserves the right to revise duties, adjust work schedules, and require overtime as business needs dictate. Physical Demands / Work Environment Requires carrying/lifting up to 5 pounds frequently, up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Requires visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination, and manual dexterity for driving a vehicle and operating computer equipment. Work is primarily in an office environment with occasional travel to other locations.
