Down South Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our dynamic team in a remote outpatient setting. This full-time role provides an exciting opportunity to engage with individuals facing mental health challenges, particularly related to substance misuse, while working from the comfort of your own home.

Work Environment
This role offers a flexible remote work environment, enabling our counselors to maintain a healthy work-life balance while effectively managing their caseload. Our outpatient facility is designed to support collaborative efforts across interdisciplinary teams, ensuring that each client receives well-rounded care tailored to their distinct needs. Our work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a consistent routine while providing essential support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health circumstances and specific requirements.
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that reflect each client's personal goals and therapeutic needs.
- Facilitate individual, couples, and group counseling sessions, applying diverse therapeutic techniques tailored to various clients, including trauma-informed care and cognitive behavioral therapy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams to provide integrated and holistic care, ensuring a cohesive approach to each client’s treatment.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client interactions, adhering to all legal and ethical standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through clinical supervision and case conferences to remain updated on best practices and enhance therapeutic skills.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will primarily support individuals grappling with addiction and related mental health issues. Our clientele includes diverse populations, often facing crises, emotional distress, trauma, or adjusting to life changes. Your work will play an essential role in not only guiding them toward recovery but also in fostering their emotional resilience and stability.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in mental health, counseling, social work, or a related field is required.
- Valid and independent LMHC license in Massachusetts is mandatory for consideration.
- Strong clinical skills coupled with a compassionate approach to client relations and therapy.
- Ability to exhibit cultural sensitivity and adapt therapeutic approaches to meet the diverse needs of clients.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in addiction therapy or working within crisis intervention settings is highly desirable.
- Prior experience with evidence-based practices tailored to substance abuse treatment or trauma recovery.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and case management software.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a sign-on bonus to help you transition smoothly into our organization.
