Private Security Police - Armed - 40 hrs/wk - Variable Shift - Southfield

General Summary Provides security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors. Responsibilities: Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats. Investigates, documents and manages security incidents and hazards. Maintains knowledge/follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations. Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety. For those security officers who are responsible for operating a vehicle, operates in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations. Certifications/Licensures Required Drivers License credentialed from the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Michigan Concealed Pistol License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Law Enforcement preferred. - Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc. preferred. Security Professional preferred. Education/Experience Required High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. 3 years security, law enforcement, military or fire experience.
