Transmission Technician

Transmission TechnicianThe Transmission Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive transmissions. This role requires a keen understanding of transmission systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.Responsibilities:Perform diagnostics to identify issues with transmissionsDiscuss repairs with shop foreman/service advisorProvide labor estimates and communicate additional service requests to the Service AdvisorPlan work and monitor repair time with shop foreman/service advisorMaintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operationDocument repairs and services accuratelyRepair or replace faulty transmission componentsAssist in mentoring technician traineesAttend company and factory training and keep current with factory technical bulletinsUnderstand and follow federal, state and local regulations (disposal of hazardous waste)Qualifications:Minimum of one year of service experience preferredAble to work independently with minimal supervisionHighly professional and dependableSafety and customer service orientedAble to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as neededValid driver's licenseAbout Us:The Norton Family has been handling Oklahoma’s automotive needs since 1928, and we take pride in providing the best customer experience possible. All you need is the same commitment to excellence we have for our customers!Physical Requirements:The physical requirements of the position are MEDIUM to HEAVY in intensity.Must be able to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time.Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision comparable necessary to drive vehicles safely.Constant – Reaching, sitting, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing.Frequent – Repetitive motion.Occasional – Balancing, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to ~100 lbs.Physical Working Conditions:This position is subject to inside and outside environmental working conditions including but not limited to temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, minor potential physical hazards as electrical, mechanical, and cleaning equipment, and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with operation an auto dealership.Jim Norton Auto Group maintains a strong policy of equal employment opportunity for all qualified employees.
