Truck Installation & Upfitting Associate

Location: Michigan City-South Req ID: 28477 Job Responsibilities Install various types of truck bodies, Mobile Power Systems®, lighting packages, graphics, and other equipment to complete custom builds for the work truck industry. Work in a clean environment building brand new trucks using common automotive shop tools. Follow quality standards, read and follow work instructions and production specifications, and enforce risk reduction procedures. Pay will correspond with years of experience. Sign‑On Bonus: $1,000 after 6 months of employment and an additional $1,000 after 12 months (subject to tax and employment standing). Job Requirements Tool Experience : Minimum 2 years using hand and power tools, preferably in automotive applications. Vehicle Experience : At least 2 years working on vehicles, professionally or as a hobby. Truck Experience : Experience on medium to heavy‑duty trucks is preferred; required at least 2 years on vehicles. Must supply all necessary tools. Physical Requirements: Lift 50 lbs unassisted regularly. Lift up to 75 lbs occasionally. Stand for 6+ hours. Bend, twist, turn, and squat while lifting 50 lbs. Familiarity with vehicle electrical systems, hydraulics, and mechanical components is a plus. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals (or learn within 30 days of hire). Basic fabrication skills (cutting, grinding, drilling, welding) are a plus. Experience installing toolboxes, racks, liftgates, lighting systems, PTOs, and other aftermarket equipment is preferred. Lincoln Electric is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
