A Board CRNA who provides competent quality care within the scope of practice to all patients. A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who practices both autonomously and in collaboration with a variety of health providers on the inter professional team to deliver high quality and evidence-based anesthesia. The CRNA cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic and pain management.

Education/Regulatory Requirements & Experience:

• Hold a license as a RN.
• Earn an appropriate degree from an approved nursing program.
• Have a minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience.
• Graduate from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthetists Educational Programs.
• Successfully complete the certification examination administered by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
• Comply with criteria for biennial re-certification. The criteria include evidence of current licensure as an RN, active practice as a CRNA.
• Appropriate continuing education to meet regulatory standards. Previous work history that demonstrates steady attendance and punctuality is required.

Language Skills:

• Must be able to communicate and read effectively in English.
