Portfolio Manager

Role Description

Cox Automotive is hiring a Portfolio Manager to support the assigned Territory. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing and growing our $100k to $2.5M within the assigned geographic territory. The primary responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining relationships with clients.
• Optimizing the portfolio through the clients’ use of the line of credit.
• Identifying and mitigating pre-default account risk.
• Supporting post-default collections on defaulted accounts.

Candidates must live within the zip codes related to the Territory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Optimize each client’s use of the line of credit within an assigned portfolio whose lines of credit range from $50k to $2.5M.
• Achieve goals and performance targets as set by the company by regularly engaging with clients in person or virtually.
• Collaborate with internal partners to drive revenue and maximize profitability through prudent account management, controlled growth, and risk mitigation.
• Educate clients on desired performance behaviors, self-service options, and best practices.
• Coach clients to ensure compliance with company policies and expectations.
• Collect and analyze client financial information and various internal reports and dashboards to assess and monitor dealer performance.
• Support the Risk and Recovery department with pre-default risk mitigation and post-default collection efforts on defaulted accounts.
• Serve as a fiduciary for the company, identifying and reporting any material client or internal non-compliance with company policies.
• Document in Salesforce all activities and client interactions as required by the company.
• Manage Cox Automotive cross business unit relationships and opportunities.

• Finance industry (various sectors).
• Strong financial acumen with working knowledge of key financial tools and terminology.
• Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with clients and collaborate with internal team members and external partners.
• Strong time management skills with ability to manage deadlines.
• Strong negotiation and collection skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a remote environment.
• Ability to maintain a high level of safety awareness and take necessary safety precautions.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Salesforce.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years’ experience in a related field (finance, client facing, B2B, account management and/or collections).
• Alternative combinations include a master’s degree and 2 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years’ experience in a related field in lieu of a degree.
• Automotive and/or floorplan industry background preferred.
• Financial knowledge and acumen preferred.

Physical Demands

• Travel: Greater than 25% with some overnight travel required.
• Ability to travel, fly, drive.
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
• Valid driver’s license is required for this position.
