Responsibilities L&D Travel Nurses provide care and support for women before, during, and after delivery. Responsibilities include: Stay with and monitor the patient throughout labor. Monitor contractions and assist patients with breathing techniques. Check cervix periodically to monitor progression. Ensure beds are kept clean and dry; clean bodily fluids before and after birth. Assist the physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, and delivery instruments. Provide immediate care of the newborn. Qualifications Certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN, NRP. Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience. Ability to stand, walk, and lift 20 lbs (up to 50 lbs with patient assistance). Experience delivering 12‑hour night shifts in L&D setting. Additional certifications may be required before beginning assignment.
