Learn more at Position Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Safety Specialist to work in our Canonsburg, PA location. The Safety Specialist will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have attention to detail, be a problem solver, be technically knowledgeable, and be team-oriented. Minimum Qualifications / Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Ability to travel to project sites, facilities, laboratories, and office locations as needed, including frequent travel of up to 25% at times per calendar year. Valid driver’s license Preferred Qualifications One (1) or more years of occupational safety experience, preferably in construction, industrial, or general industry environments. OSHA Authorized Trainer in Construction or General Industry BCSP credentials such as STS, CHST, OHST, ASP, GSP, or CSP First Aid/CPR/AED certification Valid Passport Job Responsibilities Serve as an active participant on the Safety Committee. Assist with the development, review, implementation, and monitoring of safety policies, procedures, and programs. Conduct routine site safety inspections, observations, and audits to identify hazards, verify compliance, and support corrective actions. Provide site-specific safety training and support employees’ understanding of safety requirements. Inspect, monitor, and support the maintenance of safety equipment and other safety-related systems as needed. Support incident investigations, including documentation, review, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking. Assist in identifying trends, evaluating incident data, and recommending improvements to reduce risk. Communicate regularly with client representatives, project teams, site leadership, and Aquatech corporate management. Support safety compliance efforts across multiple project locations and offices. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively in field and office environments.
