The Associate Veterinarian Role: As an Associate Veterinarian in Richmond, VA, you will provide comprehensive medical, preventative and wellness care to dogs and cats. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive small animal veterinary care for dogs and cats. Conduct physical examinations and develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans. Diagnose and manage a broad range of medical conditions. Provide preventative healthcare, wellness consultations and ongoing patient care. Perform routine surgical and dental procedures appropriate to your experience and training. Clearly explain diagnoses, treatment recommendations and preventative healthcare options to pet owners. Educate clients on nutrition, preventative medicine, behaviour and treatment plans. Maintain accurate and thorough veterinary medical records. Work collaboratively with veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, reception staff and other veterinarians. Provide compassionate, patient-focused care while maintaining a high standard of client service. Participate in continuing veterinary education and keep up to date with developments in veterinary medicine. Contribute to a supportive, professional and respectful veterinary practice environment. Requirements: Our client is looking for a veterinarian who is passionate about small animal medicine and committed to providing high-quality patient care. You should have: A DVM or equivalent veterinary degree from an accredited veterinary school. An active Virginia veterinary license, or eligibility to obtain one. Strong clinical and diagnostic skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A compassionate and professional approach to animals and their owners. The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary veterinary team. A strong commitment to ethical veterinary medicine and high standards of patient care.
