Must be available to work Monday through Friday with the schedule consisting of either a full MondayFriday schedule or select days of the week based on departmental needs. Note: All schedules are limited to part-time hours. THE OPPORTUNITY The City is seeking a highly organized detail-oriented and service-focused Administrative Assistant to join the Community Development Departments Building & Safety Division. This position provides essential administrative support to department leadership and staff while serving as a knowledgeable resource to employees contractors and the public. IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate for the Administrative Assistant position in the Community Development Departments Building & Safety Division is a highly organized detail-oriented and service-focused professional with strong administrative skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. They should possess advanced proficiency in word processing spreadsheets databases and other office technology used to prepare and maintain technical documents reports records and presentations. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential along with the ability to exercise sound judgment handle sensitive information with discretion and respond professionally to questions and concerns from staff contractors and the public. The ideal candidate will have experience providing administrative support maintaining accurate records coordinating meetings and schedules and interpreting and applying policies and procedures. A successful candidate is proactive dependable and comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with others. They demonstrate a high degree of accuracy strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. MINIMUM AND DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS A typical way of obtaining the knowledge skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent; and three years of increasingly responsible administrative support or secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. This recruitment is being conducted to fill two (2) vacancies and will establish an eligibility list which may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur during the active status of the eligibility list. Video Appraisal Interview Applicants may complete a self-guided video interview by recording responses to a series of structured questions. Technical Interview: Selected applicants will be invited to participate in a structured technical interview designed to evaluate job-related knowledge problem-solving abilities and proficiency in key competencies required for the position. Candidates will respond to a series of standardized questions and their performance will be assessed using predetermined evaluation criteria to ensure a fair and consistent appraisal process. Candidates placed on the eligible list may be referred to a selection interview to be considered for present and future vacancies.
