Pit Operator

Staff Management Group is seeking a Pit Operator for our client in Carlstadt, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

Schedule:

• All shifts available
• 1st Shift: 7AM - 3:30PM
• 2nd Shift: 3:30PM - 12AM
• 3rd Shift: 11PM - 7:30AM

Pay Rate:

• $19 - $21 / hour

Job Summary:


We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused PIT Operator to support warehouse operations by operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts to load, unload, transport, distribute, and store materials throughout the facility. This role plays a key part in maintaining efficient material flow, inventory organization, and overall warehouse productivity. The ideal candidate has experience operating powered industrial trucks (PIT) and is comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently
• Load and unload trailers while ensuring product integrity and safety
• Move, distribute, and store materials throughout the warehouse and storage areas
• Transport inventory to designated locations for shipping, receiving, or production needs
• Organize and stage materials to support efficient warehouse operations
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and company policies
• Maintain accurate handling and movement of materials
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
• Assist with additional warehouse duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts required
• Ability to safely load, unload, and transport materials throughout a warehouse environment
• Strong attention to safety and detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
• Reliable with a strong work ethic
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials as needed throughout the shift
• Forklift certification
