EHS Manager

Summary of Role The EH&S Manager manages plant-wide efforts to continuously improve environmental, health & safety performance at the facility, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local EHS requirements. The role reports directly to the Plant Manager and matrix reports to the Sr. Regulatory Compliance and Safety Manager – N.A. The EHS Technician reports to the EHS Manager. Key Responsibilities Coordinates and oversees environmental, health & safety policies, procedures, training programs, testing, and other assessment programs. Ensures that the environmental, health & safety program is organized, documented, and complies with OSHA, EPA, and other local, state and federal regulations. Surveys, compiles, and analyzes data related to occupational and environmental health issues. Responds to various State environmental agency inquiries about hazardous waste materials and environmental conditions at the Northlake site. Ensures that all injuries and illnesses are thoroughly investigated, properly reported, and related documents are ready for possible litigation. Obtains or assists in obtaining environmental permits or other government regulatory approvals or licenses. Ensures compliance to environmental, health & safety training regulations. Continuously improves the facility environmental, health & safety program, culture and incident rate. Assists other Scholle facilities with environmental, health & safety issues, as needed. Builds trust and rapport with site personnel and provides a high level of service to stakeholders. Assembles and leads safety committee and/or safety planning committees. Be an advocate and contributor to a culture of safety. Performs other duties as assigned. Skills, Experience & Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited four‑year college or university, preferably in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering or related field. Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment. Presentation skills to enable effective training and communication to all levels at site. Proven work experience leading teams to execute improvement projects. Previous experience training and developing training programs. Problem solving and root cause analysis. Strong written and oral communication skills. Proficient in navigating OSHA, EPA, and other key regulations. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
