Introduction

The company is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the development and execution of a robust data strategy. This role will involve working with cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with various teams to drive data-driven decision-making and innovation.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 10 years in data engineering/architecture across cloud or hybrid environments, with measurable impact on modernization, scalability, and cost optimization.
  • Hands-on expertise with cloud-native Lakehouse platforms (Databricks, Snowflake), streaming (Kafka), ETL/ELT (Informatica), BI (MicroStrategy, Tableau, ThoughtSpot), and relational databases.
  • Programming proficiency in Python and SQL for data engineering, automation, and AI/ML pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, platform choices, model lifecycle/MLOps, and integration into enterprise data platforms.
  • Knowledge of metadata, lineage, data quality, and governance tooling (Collibra DQ, SALT, Informatica EDC).
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
  • Cloud certifications: AWS, Azure, GCP.
  • Vendor certifications: Databricks, Snowflake, Oracle.
  • AI/ML certifications (e.g., AWS ML Specialty, Azure AI Engineer, Google Professional ML Engineer).
  • Demonstrated FinOps and cloud cost optimization strategies for data platforms.
  • Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry
  • Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Define a multi-year data platform strategy and roadmap, balancing short-term delivery with long-term modernization.
  • Monitor and assess new technologies for data and analytics, advising on platforms, MLOps, and integration patterns.
  • Sponsor proofs of concept with delivery teams; set success criteria and engineering standards.
  • Drive migration from legacy warehouses to cloud-ready Lakehouse platforms with secure, cost-efficient services.
  • Provide expertise in relational/NoSQL databases, open table formats, streaming, and event-driven architectures.
  • Align with enterprise data strategy, governance, and approved tools, embedding responsible AI and model risk controls.
  • Lead data literacy programs, training, and communities of practice to foster adoption of AI and modern engineering.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business, tech, and compliance teams, communicating strategic impact and cost/benefit.
