Cardiac Anesthesiologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as an anesthesiologist; strong cardiac anesthesia experience required
• M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an approved anesthesiology residency
• Board certification or fellowship training in anesthesiology or cardiac anesthesiology
• Current physician license, or willingness to obtain licensure in New York
• Current TEE certification required
• Eligible for applicable credentialing and privileging requirements

Cardiac Anesthesiology Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiac anesthesia care for patients undergoing surgical and interventional procedures
• Assist in directing and coordinating anesthesia department activities
• Perform thorough pre-anesthesia assessments and verify informed consent
• Discuss anesthetic options, anticipated outcomes, and potential risks with patients
• Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitor and evaluate patients’ physiological condition throughout procedures
• Perform clinical interventions as needed to support patient safety and recovery
• Collaborate with CRNAs and multidisciplinary clinical teams while managing appropriate cases independently
