Medical Assistant PositionWe're hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to support our providers in our Newnan and LaGrange, Georgia offices.This is a hands-on clinical position ideal for a Medical Assistant who enjoys working directly with patients and providers, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to providing an exceptional patient experience. Phlebotomy experience is required. Dermatology experience and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credentials are preferred but not required.Applicants seeking part-time hours may also be considered.ScheduleThis position supports both our LaGrange and Newnan offices each week:Monday & Tuesday: LaGrange, GA | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMWednesday & Thursday: Newnan, GA | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMSome Fridays: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PMReliable transportation and the ability to work at both office locations are required.ResponsibilitiesAs a Medical Assistant, you will work closely with our dermatology providers to deliver high-quality patient care while supporting an efficient clinic workflow.Responsibilities include:Room and prepare patients for examinations and proceduresObtain and document medical histories, medications, and chief complaintsAssist physicians and advanced practice providers with patient careAssist with biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and other in-office dermatologic proceduresPerform venipuncture and collect laboratory specimensPrepare and label pathology and laboratory specimensAdminister medications and injections as directedPrepare procedure rooms and sterilize instrumentsAccurately document patient encounters within the electronic medical record (EMR)Educate patients regarding medications, wound care, procedures, and treatment plansCoordinate laboratory testing, pathology results, and follow-up careMaintain exam room supplies and clinical inventorySupport providers and team members to maintain an efficient patient flowProvide compassionate and professional care throughout the patient experiencePerform other duties as assigned by managementQualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or GEDPrevious Medical Assistant or comparable clinical patient care experiencePhlebotomy experienceAbility to reliably commute between the LaGrange and Newnan office locationsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environmentPreferredCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) credentialCompletion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) programBachelor's degree in a pre-med, pre-physician assistant, or related healthcare field1-2 years of recent Medical Assistant or clinical patient care experiencePrevious dermatology experienceExperience assisting with biopsies, excisions, sutures, cryotherapy, or cosmetic proceduresExperience using an EMRPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workdayFrequent bending, reaching, twisting, balancing, and repetitive movementsFrequent use of hands and fingers for clinical procedures and documentationAbility to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team membersAbility to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 poundsAbility to safely handle medical supplies, instruments, and office materialsPotential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, chemicals, and sharps while following required safety precautionsBenefitsBenefits are available to employees working 30 or more hours per week and include:Medical, dental, and vision insuranceCompany-paid Basic Life and AD&D insuranceShort-term disabilityLong-term disabilityVoluntary life insurance for employees, spouses, and childrenCritical illness insuranceHospital indemnity insurancePaid time off (PTO)Paid holidays401(k) retirement savings planEmployee discounts on cosmetic dermatology services and skincare products
