Travel Histology Technician

Location: Mason City, Iowa

We are seeking an experienced Travel Histology Technician for a 13-week assignment at a respected acute care facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Histology Tech looking to join a collaborative laboratory team on a weekday schedule.

• Schedule Options:
  • Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
  • Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

• Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process tissue specimens for histologic examination
  • Perform embedding, microtomy, staining, and cover slipping procedures
  • Ensure high-quality tissue sections for pathologist review
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and perform quality control procedures
  • Follow all laboratory safety standards and regulatory guidelines
  • Accurately document procedures using the electronic medical record system

Requirements

• Recent Histology Technician experience in an acute care or hospital laboratory
• Experience performing embedding, microtomy, tissue processing, and routine histology procedures
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced laboratory environment
