Occupational Therapist, PRN

Department: 37503 Lexington Medical Center - Outpatient Rehabilitation Status: Part time Benefits eligible: No Hours per week: 4 Schedule is predominantly Monday through Friday with occasional need for weekend assistance ( Pay Range: $49.00 - $49.00 What You'll Need Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university. M.A. or Doctorate (accreditation AOTA) preferred. Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the applicable state with current licensure. CPR Certification every two years. Valid applicable state driver's license. What You'll Do Perform specialized tests such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teach occupational therapy procedures to patients, families and other health personnel. Conduct both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members, provide written summaries of diagnostic findings, and incorporate them into team plans. Plan intervention strategies and communicate effectively with families regarding the child’s strengths and weaknesses; work may occur in homes, agencies, preschools or clinics. Provide occupational therapy treatment services including neuro‑developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, or other modalities to enhance sensory motor functioning and general developmental status. Document goals, objectives, treatment course and progress with the patient; participate in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed. Participate in chart review of clinical records for quality assurance, attend relevant workshops, update instruments and tools to ensure best practices for the population served. Attend scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Skills and Qualifications Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact with patients, family members, visitors, coworkers and medical staff in varied circumstances. Capability to work with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and older adult patients. Negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Functions effectively under stressful and difficult situations.
