Job Overview We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Building Official to join our team of professionals. Job Requirements Responsible for meeting all state and locally mandated code compliance and reporting requirements. Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to the day‑to‑day functions of the building department. Serve as the primary liaison with clients in this area and ensure delivery of the highest level of customer service. Attend department and community meetings as required by the client. Perform plan reviews of commercial and residential work in all trades. Provide inspection support as needed. Supervise building department staff. Skills & Knowledge Extensive knowledge of local building code regulations, policies and procedures. Solid computer skills and experience using MS Office programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Initiative and independent judgment. Self‑directed and self‑motivated. Education / Certification / Experience OH Commercial Building Official (CBO) Level 5 or Comprehensive Code Official (CCO) Level 6 certification required. Plumbing and/or electrical specializations are a plus (Level2 RLC‑REI or Level3 RLC‑ESI). Other OH certifications are a plus. Inspection experience required. Client and team management experience in a building department setting preferred. Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
