Construction Coordinator IPosition Summary

We are seeking a Construction Coordinator I to support construction projects from both the office and field. This entry-level position will assist with construction coordination, contractor oversight, project documentation, field inspections, scheduling, and contract administration.

The ideal candidate will have a foundation in civil engineering, construction management, or a related technical discipline , along with strong communication and organizational skills. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional looking to develop experience in construction coordination and project management.

The position works under the direction of a supervisor or project manager and involves assignments of limited complexity with appropriate guidance and support.

• Observe and facilitate installation of project components to ensure contractor compliance with contracts, specifications, plans, and schedules.

• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, owners, consultants, vendors, and other project stakeholders.

• Monitor and report on project progress, inspections, subcontractor activities, delays, and potential issues.

• Identify site issues that could affect project schedules or delivery and assist with resolution.

• Review contractor change order requests, prepare supporting documentation, and coordinate the approval process.

• Assist with invoices, pay applications, draw packages, lien waivers, sworn statements, and other project documentation.

• Create and update project schedules using Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.

• Prepare and maintain construction meeting notes and project records.

• Review submittals, drawings, permits, bonds, insurance documentation, and other project/administrative documents.

• Use Procore or similar construction management software to communicate and maintain project information.

• Conduct field inspections, including water testing, leak investigations, condition surveys, and balcony railing inspections.

• Participate in and/or coordinate Engineer-Owner-Contractor (EOC) meetings .

• Communicate project status, observations, issues, and recommendations to project management and relevant stakeholders.

• Perform other construction coordination and project support duties as assigned.

• 0-2 years of related experience in construction, engineering, project coordination, construction management, or a related field.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and regulations.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.

• Ability to learn and use construction/project management software such as Procore .

• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.

• OSHA 10 certification preferred.

• Professional Engineering (PE) registration or eligibility preferred.

• Certifications such as RRO, RWC, RBEC, PMP , or similar credentials are a plus.

• Advanced degree is a plus but not required.

• Ability to balance field responsibilities, administrative work, and communication with multiple stakeholders.

Northwest Florida

The search may be expanded beyond the immediate local market for strong candidates. Candidates who are willing to relocate to Northwest Florida are encouraged to apply.

Relocation willingness should be considered when evaluating candidates who otherwise demonstrate strong technical qualifications, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

• Full-time position combining office and field work , with the majority of work performed in an office environment.

• Some early or late work may be required to attend client, contractor, or regulatory meetings.

• Must be comfortable working around active construction sites.

• Must be able to frequently walk and stand for extended periods.

• Must be able to climb and descend stairs, ramps, ladders, and scaffolding.

• May require crawling, kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and driving.

• Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds .

• Must be comfortable working at elevated locations, including ladders, scaffolding, roofs, balconies, and swing stages .
