Specialty: Speech Language Pathologist Discipline: Therapy Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Job Description Key Responsibilities Evaluate and treat patients of all ages with speech, language, cognitive, swallowing, and oropharyngeal disorders. Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing assessments. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and monitor progress throughout therapy. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, discharge summaries, and billing records. Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, home exercise programs, and care recommendations. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, dietitians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care. Support daily outpatient speech therapy operations, including scheduling and productivity tracking. Ensure compliance with billing, coding, reimbursement, and applicable regulatory requirements. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental program development. Supervise, mentor, and precept new staff members, students, and volunteers as needed. Maintain therapy equipment and recommend supplies or equipment when necessary. Follow all infection control, patient safety, confidentiality, and organizational policies and procedures. Required Skills Experience performing speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations and treatments. Excellent clinical documentation, communication, and patient education skills. Knowledge of medical billing, coding, and reimbursement procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer applications. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills. Qualifications Active Kentucky Speech-Language Pathology License . BLS Certification or willingness to obtain certification after hire. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
