Duration: 6+ Month Contract (Potential Extension or Conversion Based on Performance)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Normal Business Hours
Pay Rate: $45-$51/hour on W2 (Negotiable Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support procurement and supply chain activities for complex engineering and manufacturing programs. The ideal candidate will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, oversee procurement processes, and ensure the timely delivery of materials and services that meet cost, quality, and performance objectives.

This role requires strong analytical, negotiation, and supplier management skills, as well as experience working in highly regulated manufacturing or technology-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships and coordinate with cross-functional teams to support the development and production of advanced systems and technologies.
• Ensure program requirements are effectively prioritized and executed to meet business and operational objectives.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Quote (RFQs).
• Conduct cost and price analyses to support sourcing decisions and contract negotiations.
• Develop and execute negotiation strategies to achieve favorable commercial terms.
• Create and manage various contract structures, including long-term agreements, strategic sourcing partnerships, and procurement contracts.
• Own the procurement process from requisition creation through invoice payment resolution.
• Lead the identification, negotiation, implementation, and management of strategic supplier agreements and Long-Term Agreements (LTAs).
• Support organizational procurement strategies and drive supplier performance improvements.
• Ensure materials and services are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with technical requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance and proactively address delivery, quality, and cost concerns.
• Establish and track procurement metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Collaborate with engineering, program management, finance, quality, and operations teams to support project objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of supply chain, procurement, or sourcing experience ; or
• Master's degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience .
• Strong experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier management.
• Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
• Experience negotiating and managing multiple contract types, including:
  • Firm Fixed Price (FFP)
  • Time & Materials (T&M)
  • Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF)
  • Cost Plus Incentive Fee (CPIF)
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines.
• Experience operating in fast-paced, evolving environments with changing business requirements.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 quality standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering documentation, technical specifications, and source control drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Aerospace, Space, Defense, Manufacturing, or High-Tech industries.
• Knowledge of avionics, fluid systems, or other engineered components.
• Familiarity with import/export compliance regulations, including ITAR and EAR.
• Professional certifications such as:
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Experience with procurement and project management tools such as:
  • Deltek Costpoint
  • Jira
  • SharePoint
