Elutia is executing a deliberate strategy to address surgical infections, beginning in breast cancer and extending across general reconstructive and soft tissue repair. That strategy is anchored by NXT-41x, the Company’s next-generation antibiotic-eluting biomatrix, a product with billion-dollar potential. Perhaps more meaningfully, we have the chance to improve outcomes in procedures where persistently elevated post-operative infection rates hurt patients, hospitals, and physicians alike.

With FDA clearance expected in the first half of 2027, Elutia is building the strategic marketing function to position NXT-41x to lead a strong, durable market entry. The Director of Strategic Marketing will work directly with the CEO, CCO, CSO, and SVP of Medical Affairs to create, own, and implement the marketing strategy. For the right person, this can be the defining role of their career.

How You’ll Contribute:

The Strategic Marketing Mandate

Establish NXT-41x as the standard of care for infection prevention in plastic and reconstructive surgery by creating the market position, strategy, and sales collateral needed for success.

• Master the market: Understand the market well enough to generate key insights for effective product positioning and strategy development.
• Establish the 41x position: Define what NXT-41x is to the market and build the brand and narrative around it.
• Set the value, price, and access strategy: Establish the value proposition, pricing strategy, and access approach to drive adoption
• Equip the launch: Convert the strategy into the messaging and materials the field needs to execute.

Master the Market

• Market research and insights. Integrate independent market research with intelligence from the CCO, CSO, and Medical Affairs to form a cohesive understanding of our customers.
• Competitive strategy. Assess the landscape, anticipate how incumbents will respond to launch, and generate strategic positioning to make their efforts futile.
• Segmentation, targeting, and forecasting. Build and maintain the market model, market segmentation, and demand forecast that drive the field plan and revenue build.

Establish the 41x Position

• Positioning. Determine how NXT-41x should be defined, framed, and communicated in the market.
• Trade name and brand identity. Own the trade name and brand identity.
• Commercial narrative. Build the commercial narrative from primary research and objective evidence.

Set the Value, Price and Access Strategy

• Pricing strategy. Develop the pricing strategy, value architecture, and price-adoption analysis.
• Market access strategy. Define the market access approach, including the value analysis pathway, economic story, and coding and payment strategy.

Equip the Launch

• Promotional messaging platform. Own the promotional messaging platform for the field.
• Promotional selling tools. Create the promotional selling tools for the commercial teams.
• Commercial congress presence. Own the commercial footprint at congresses and trade shows.
• Integrated launch plan. Own the integrated launch plan with clear timelines and success metrics.

How You Will Work

• We believe in teams. Deep, daily partnership with Sales on targeting, enablement, and contracting; with Medical Affairs on evidence, claims accuracy, and the non-promotional voice; and with the CSO on product performance, clinical strategy and data generation.
• Everyone at Elutia is a player. You will write the deck, run the analysis, and sit in the account prep session yourself. We are not just willing to be hands on, we love it.
• We do great work. You must know what good looks like and how to obtain it. Creativity is essential. Accuracy is non-negotiable.

What You’ll Bring:

• The ambition to treat this as the defining product of your career
• 7+ years in medical device or pharmaceutical marketing.
• Experience with at least one launch where you defined a product category
• Surgical device or novel antimicrobial experience required; plastic and reconstructive surgery, and biomaterials experience valued.
• Fluency in hospital economics: value analysis committees, reimbursement, packaged payment, budget impact modeling.
