Maintenance Technician - Manufacturing

Starting Pay: 1st -$21.00/hr

Starting Pay 2nd - $24.00/hr

1st Shift Schedule, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, but flexibility needed.

2nd Shift Schedule, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, but flexibility needed.

Summary

Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of machines and materials used in the production of food products. The person in this position will perform a multitude of tasks as needed to service, repair, and maintain equipment used in production area of plant, as well as any other mechanical issues around plant that need resolved. They are responsible for following all safety, GMP and SQF policies/procedures, as well as adherence to PPE/hygiene policies, in cooperation with our Operations Manager, and Assistant Operations Manager, and Maintenance Supervisor. Work full-time schedule during the week, Monday through Friday, and some holidays as needed.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform basic troubleshooting on various production equipment, PLCs, hydraulics/pneumatics used in production or other areas of plant
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and execute plans for repair
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment for potential failures
• Maintain basic upkeep of premises and machinery to ensure smooth operation of production
• Make sure that work gets done in a timely manner, according to the standards laid out by the maintenance manager
• Report all equipment issues to the supervisor or manager in a timely manner
• Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned spaces
• Assist in quality checks (as needed)
• Follow the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Safety Policy including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, and Code of Ethics, as well as all material handling, dock and security safety

Requirements

• At least 1 year experience in food manufacturing required
• Electrical experience strongly preferred
• Technical education and knowledge strongly preferred
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
• Must be legally eligible for employment in the United States
• Must wear all proper protective equipment
• Must have consistent transportation to and from work to accommodate shifts ending at different times
• Lift and carry 50+ pounds
• Able to understand simple verbal and written instructions in English
• Pass physical and drug test
• Compliance with all safety rules
