The Registered Nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center provides expert, compassionate care to critically ill surgical patients in a 24-bed, high-acuity Level I Trauma Center. The SICU cares for a diverse population including general surgery, trauma, transplant, and cardiothoracic surgery patients. In this role, the RN delivers evidence-based, patient-centered care while collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team to manage complex and rapidly changing clinical conditions. The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) is a 24-bed, high-acuity critical care unit specializing in:

• General Surgery
• Trauma
• Transplant
• Cardiothoracic Surgery

As a Level I Trauma Center, our team collaborates closely with a broad multidisciplinary group to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The SICU also cares for a wide range of acutely ill patients requiring advanced and complex therapies.

Technology & Scheduling

• Epic is used for computerized charting and medication administration.
• Self-scheduling is available through a computerized platform.
• Every third weekend rotation is required.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred
• BLS required ACLS certification preferred
• At least 1 year of previous Nursing experience in acute care or sub-acute setting required
• Critical Care and Telemetry experience preferred
• Massachusetts registered Nurse license required.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
• Lifting 75 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs

Pay Range:

$37.00 - $95.37

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
