Senior Plumbing Design Technician – Industrial SystemsWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Plumbing Design Technician to lead the design and coordination of complex industrial plumbing systems. This is a high-impact role focused on delivering fully constructable, code-compliant designs for large-scale industrial facilities. In this position, you will take ownership of plumbing system layouts, routing, and detailed construction documentation, including P&IDs and technical drawings, while collaborating closely with engineers, clients, and contractors. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level professional looking to play a key role in large, complex projects with significant autonomy and technical influence.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, layout, and routing of industrial plumbing systems for complex facilitiesDevelop detailed construction documents, including P&IDs, plans, sections, and system layoutsPerform design work across all project phases including planning, conceptual design, and final detailingEnsure all designs comply with applicable plumbing codes and industry standardsCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and structural groupsCollaborate directly with clients and contractors to ensure design intent and constructabilityReview and refine designs to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and real-world applicationProvide technical leadership and guidance on plumbing system design best practicesUtilize AutoCAD and Revit to produce high-quality drawings and modelsSupport project delivery with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality standardsRequired Skills and QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED8+ years of AutoCAD design experience4+ years of Revit design experience5+ years of industrial plumbing design experience, including system layout and routingStrong working knowledge of U.S. plumbing codes, including IPC and UPCProven ability to develop P&IDs and detailed construction documentationStrong understanding of industrial facility design and coordination requirementsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication skills and ability to work across teamsPreferred SkillsExperience working on large-scale industrial or manufacturing facilitiesBackground with EPC or A&E firms supporting complex infrastructure projectsAdvanced experience coordinating within BIM environmentsAbility to lead design efforts and mentor junior designersStrong understanding of constructability and field installation practicesExperience collaborating in remote or distributed project teamsLocation: Portland, OR (Fully Remote or Hybrid Available)Compensation: $50.00 – $75.00 per hour (Long-term contract opportunity)
