Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in West Plains, Missouri.


Practice Emergency Medicine in a collaborative, physician-led environment serving as a regional referral center for the Missouri Ozarks. This full-time assignment offers the ideal balance of clinical variety, strong physician support, and a sustainable practice environment where experienced Physician Assistants can practice at the top of their license while caring for a diverse emergency patient population. With predictable scheduling, consistent provider coverage, and a manageable annual census, this is an excellent opportunity for Emergency Medicine PAs seeking long-term stability without sacrificing clinical acuity.

Schedule

• Full-time ongoing coverage
• Consistent monthly scheduling
• Twelve-hour APP coverage Monday through Friday
• Thirteen-hour APP coverage Saturday and Sunday
• Schedule developed collaboratively with the clinical team

Clinical Practice

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a broad range of emergency medical conditions
• Perform emergency procedures within credentialed scope of practice
• Manage moderate- and high-acuity patients alongside dedicated Emergency Medicine physicians
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and coordinate specialty consultation and transfer when appropriate
• Utilize Meditech Expanse for clinical documentation and patient management
• Collaborate within a physician-led Emergency Medicine team focused on high-quality patient care

Practice Environment

• Approximately 27,000 annual emergency department visits
• Continuous physician support with 30–36 physician coverage hours each day
• Dedicated Advanced Practice Provider coverage every day of the week
• Regional referral hospital serving the Missouri Ozarks
• Team-oriented Emergency Medicine practice emphasizing collaboration and clinical excellence

Minimum Qualifications

• Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
• Minimum one year of post-graduate Emergency Medicine practice experience
• Active Missouri license or ability to obtain
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Current PALS certification
