Job Title: Senior Distribution Engineer – Automation Reports To: VP, Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Location: Austin, Texas Business Unit Description Enovis Surgical® provides orthopedic surgeons with modern, patient‑focused solutions for total joint arthroplasty. The company offers a full range of primary and revision implants for hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow reconstructive joint surgeries, in addition to the tools and digital health technology needed in today’s changing healthcare environment. Job Title/High‑Level Position Summary Senior Distribution Engineer – Automation to support the design, optimization, and scalability of distribution operations at the MPOC facility. Responsibilities include improving material flow, warehouse efficiency, and order fulfillment processes through data‑driven decisions, and implementing and supporting automation solutions. Key Responsibilities Design and optimize warehouse layouts, material flow, and storage strategies to improve efficiency and throughput. Analyze distribution processes (receiving, put‑away, picking, packing, shipping) and implement improvements. Develop and maintain standard work and process documentation. Identify, evaluate, and implement automation solutions (e.g., conveyors, sortation systems, AGVs, and fixed and mobile robotic systems). Lead automation‑related projects from concept through implementation. Partner with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful deployment of automated systems. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing manual touches, cycle time, and errors. Utilize data to identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements. Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor performance (throughput, accuracy, productivity). Support capacity planning and labor optimization efforts. Collaborate with IT and Supply Chain teams to optimize Warehouse Management System (WMS) functionality. Ensure alignment and integration between WMS, ERP, and automation systems. Experience with Oracle ERP preferred. Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth product flow from production to distribution. Support new product introductions (NPI) by designing scalable distribution processes. Provide on‑the‑floor support to troubleshoot operational issues and drive resolution. Minimum Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field. 5+ years of experience in distribution, warehouse operations, or manufacturing engineering. Experience designing or improving warehouse processes and material flow. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience using data to drive decisions.
